2009-04-11T08:29:25Z The Two Oceans Marathon is a 56 KM / 35 mile ultra-marathon held annually in Cape Town, South Afrrica on the Saturday of the Easter weekend. Claimed to be “the world’s most beautiful marathon”, the race is run against a backdrop of spectacular scenery through the Cape Penisula.

The race starts in Newlands, and follows a more or less circular route through Muizenberg, Fish Hoek, over Chapman’s Peak and Constantia Nek, and eventually finishes at the University of Cape Town campus.

Nearly 8,000 runners entered the 2007 event. A very popular half marathon(21 km) (13.1 mi) is also held on the same day as the ultramarathon. In 2007 the half marathon attracted nearly 11,000 entries, making it the biggest half marathon in South Africa. Approximately 6,000 runners also took part in various fun runs the day before the race.

The latest provider of cellular services in South Africa is Virgin Mobile. Virgin Mobile is a division of the Virgin Group of Richard Branson. The novelty and freshness of the brand from Virgin Mobile is refreshing for potential cellular network users. Virgin Mobile offers true per second billing from the first second and the more one uses the network for calls the cheaper the rate becomes. The other providers offer a standard per second pricing option with more affordable starter packs prices.

The cost of a starter pack in South Africa is around £0,7p or $0,15c. The starter pack price is low, however the cost of making calls and sms is relatively high. With Vodacom one has the option of a per minute billing rate and is able to change this simply by dialing a service number to a per second option. With the per second option the minute rate is higher but you are billed from the first second which means that if you call for less than a minute quite frequently this is a better option for you. On average the per minute rate is roughly equivalent to $0,40c or £0,25p. And Virgin Mobile structures the tarif for the first five minutes per day and at around $0,30c/ £0,20p and $0,20c/ £0,10 thereafter.
